Kristine Collins, DVM
Dr. Kristine Collins graduated with her Veterinary Degree from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 2001. She continued her education with a small animal surgical internship with Surgical Options in Madison.
She worked in a clinic south of Madison since 2002. She enjoyed working with all species of animals both large and small. However, since 2005 she has focused on dogs, cats and household pets in the areas of medicine, surgery and emergency care. She opened Sauk Point Veterinary Clinic to continue her ideal of being a neighborhood veterinarian to an extended community. She enjoys her calling as a veterinarian, and sharing her knowledge of general science and medicine with pet owners and her friends.
She has done volunteer work for the Dane County Humane Society and for Friends of Ferals. She is also an active participant in her local Rotary Chapter. Dr. Collins grew up in Omaha, Nebraska, then moved to Wisconsin with her husband Dave Manganaro in 1995. They have had many pets all their lives, and currently have 4 rescued cats of their own, and a foster cat currently in rehabilitation at their home.
Christie Iliff, DVM
Dr. Christie Iliff received her DVM from Washington State University in 1998. She grew up in Nebraska and Arizona and made her way to Wisconsin in 2003. While she misses the warmth of Arizona in the winter, she loves Madison and the wonderful pet owners she has been able to meet here. She is also a UW-Madison graduate with MS in Biotechnology she received in 2007. Since moving to Madison she has primarily worked as a relief veterinarian, filling in at various practices around the area. She enjoys getting to meet new staff and clients around town and learning wherever she goes. When not practicing veterinary medicine, she spends her time with her husband and young son, trying to get outdoors whenever possible. She currently has three cats and a nutty labradoodle that run the house. Her professional interests include dentistry and internal medicine but she enjoys all aspects of veterinary practice, especially finding solutions that work for each individual client.
Sara, Managing CVT
Sara has been a CVT at Sauk Point since 2013, when she graduated from the Madison College Veterinary Technician program. She lives in Fitchburg with her husband, three children, dog and cat. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, camping, and being outdoors.
Pamela Sanftleben, DVM
Dr. Pamela Sanftleben graduated in 1990 with her degree in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Wisconsin Madison. In 2016, Dr. Pamela became certified in Veterinary Acupuncture through the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine, in Florida.
Dr. Sanftleben grew up in the Madison Area. Veterinary Medicine has always been her passion. She worked at a local veterinary clinic for 12 years, while she completed high school, college and veterinary school. Upon graduation from veterinary school she worked in emergency medicine in Waukesha, WI and was on adjunct faculty at the University of Illinois-School of Veterinary Medicine. She began to miss Madison and returned accepting a position at a busy practice on the westside for 24 years. In the spring of 2017 we invited her to join our passionate and caring team here at Sauk Point Veterinary Clinic.
She enjoys clinical and internal medicine, dermatology (allergies), oncology and problem solving. Preventative medicine, wellness and geriatric patient care are also of special interest to her. During her time away from the office, she enjoys writing, reading, hiking, biking and scuba diving. Some of her favorite places to unwind are at Devil's lake, the movies, the gym and at home with her family and pets.
Chris Schatz, DVM
Dr. Chris Schatz graduated in 2009 from the University of Wisconsin–Madison School of Veterinary Medicine. He is a relief veterinarian with us here at Sauk Point Veterinary Clinic. In his free time he enjoys biking, music, reading, and quality time with his cat, Martha.
Katelyn graduated from the MATC Veterinary Technician program in 2013. She has been at Sauk Point since 2014. She is originally from Kenosha, WI, where she grew up with her parents and family cat. She now lives in Fitchburg with her rescue cats: Asher and Mick. In her free time she likes to paint, craft, travel, and spend time with family and friends.
Amber has worked in small animal practice since 2011 and became a Certified Veterinary Technician in 2014. She has been with Sauk Point since 2015. She chose to go into the veterinary field because of her love of animals. Her biggest motivation was her beloved Golden Retriever, Frankie. When she isn't working she enjoys spending time with her friends and family. Her husband, 3 small children and dogs keep her very busy.
Taylor grew up in the Madison area. She joined our team when she graduated from the Veterinary Technician program at Madison College in 2015. She loves rabbits; her first love being her three-legged rabbit named Kya. She now lives at home with her beagle, Rue and her rabbit Benvi. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, road trips, taking her dog to the dog park, and making new toys and puzzles for her rabbit.
Sarah is the smiling face who greets you when you visit Sauk Point Veterinary Clinic !
A lover of all animals, Sarah's family includes her husband, 2 kids, 3 Whippets, 2 Australian Shepherds, 2 birds, assorted fish and Tango the cat. it's a zoo!
In her free time, Sarah enjoys hot yoga, hiking, making crafts, and unwinding with a glass of wine while surfing the web.
She always keeps the candy bowl filled at the clinic, so come on by and say "hi"!
Claire, Veterinary Assistant
Claire graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in Zoology in 2016 and plans to attend veterinary school in the future. She has been at Sauk Point since fall of 2016. She loves animals of all shapes and sizes, but she has a soft spot for horses and rescue mutts. In her free time, Claire loves to spend time with her two horses, practice yoga, and explore the various parks and lakes that Wisconsin has to offer.
Joe, Veterinary Assistant
Joe got his BS in biology at Colorado State University in 2015. While in school he worked with horses and dairy cows. After graduating he moved back home to California vand worked at a small animal clinic. He moved to Madison in 2016 to start veterinary school where he aspires to become a mixed animal practicioner. In his free time, Joe enjoys cooking, outdoor activities, and hanging with friends.
Candi graduated from Madison College Veterinary technician program in May 2017, when she joined the Sauk Point team. She lives with her dog Tequila and cat Rex. In her free time she enjoys camping, hiking and spending time with friends.
Kristine, Veterinary Assistant
Kristine grew up in Monroe, Wisconsin but now lives in Madison while attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After graduating in May with a BS in Biology and Certificate in Global Health, she hopes to attend veterinary school and become a small animal veterinarian. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family pets (2 rescue dogs and 1 cat), supporting the Badgers, and volunteering at the Green County Humane Society.
